One of Surrey Environment Partnership’s partners, Mole Valley District Council (MVDC), has seen enthusiasm from businesses in their support for the recently-established ‘Refill Mole Valley’ scheme. Over 50 local businesses have already signed up to list themselves as a Refill Station.
MVDC only joined forces with founders of the Refill Campaign, City to Sea, in September this year, but more than 50 businesses in the district have already been inspired by the wider need to tackle avoidable plastic waste and signed up to the local initiative, Refill Mole Valley. Having become part of the Refill Revolution, participating businesses are helping to increase the public availability of drinking water in Mole Valley.
The already impressive number of businesses across Mole Valley offering free drinking water means that residents and visitors to the district can easily find somewhere to fill up their re-usable bottles, rather than having to purchase single-use bottled water. Refill Stations can be found either by coming across an establishment displaying a Refill sticker in their window, or by locating businesses on a map hosted on the Refill app, which can be downloaded for free from a device’s app store.
